About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with strong expertise in US federal and state taxation. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations, and providing tax planning services for clients across the United States.
You will work closely with US-based clients, manage multiple tax portfolios, and lead a team of tax professionals from our Lahore office.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Filings
Prepare and review Form 1040 (Individual), Form 1065 (Partnership), Form 1120/1120S (Corporate), and other US tax forms.
Ensure compliance with IRS and state-specific tax regulations.
Manage sales tax, payroll tax, and other state filings.
File extensions and respond to IRS/state notices when required.
Advisory & Client Management
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory to optimize tax positions.
Communicate directly with US clients to collect documents, clarify issues, and deliver timely updates.
Stay updated on federal and state tax law changes.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of ledgers.
Leadership & Quality Control
Supervise and mentor junior accountants.
Conduct Quality Control Reviews (QCR) to ensure high standards and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Professional Certification (Preferred):
CPA (USA) qualified or in progress.
Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is highly valued.
ACCA, CA, or equivalent qualifications with proven US tax experience will also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in US taxation and accounting.
Strong exposure to working with US-based clients in different states.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of IRS regulations and multi-state compliance.
Proficiency in US accounting and tax software (QuickBooks, Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte).
Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
Soft Skills:
Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written).
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
